Membership

The Black Arts Foundation (BAF) mission is to establish forums that showcase emerging artists of Color from the African Diaspora in Film, Music, Photography, and Modern Art, to provide educational and professional development opportunities, and to advocate for the visibility and success of Black artists.

BAF’s vision is to cultivate a vibrant and inclusive cultural landscape where the artistic contributions of Black creators from the African Diaspora are celebrated, supported, and recognized. Through innovative programming and collaborative initiatives, we aim to ignite creativity and foster social change within the global arts community.

The Virginia Black Film Festival, part of BAF’s national initiative, is just one of several ongoing forums aimed at fostering the growth and recognition of Black filmmakers and artists.
